Want to teach your child to touch type? I was taught..ehmm years ago… in high school and have found it to be a skill that is highly valuable. Keyboarding Classroom is a computer program that walks your child through the basics up to being able to touch type at a very respectable speed.
I started this program with my child that has low tone hands knowing that writing is becoming difficult for her. I had some concerns at first about how she would be able to move her hands to type without exhausting them. Keyboard Classroom comes with these great hand guides that stop your child from working their hands too much and keeps them aligned to the keyboard.
Builds muscle memory, allowing students to type without having to focus on where their fingers are positioned on the keyboard.
This is an idea that is worthy of a big shout out! My daughter needs to type but needs to learn in such a way that it doesn’t exhaust her already weaker low tone hands. Instead of frustration and tired hands I heard giggles and the occasional shout that she did it and moved up in rank.
The program allows for as much practice as your child needs. When that is over they can go to the time tested side. If they do well then your child gets to advance in levels of difficulty and rank along with perks telling them they did great.
There is an online game portion. The games emphasis keyboarding but in a fun way that my daughter didn’t mind at all. The games made for a nice break from the practice/test cycle.
The ability for my daughter to write out her thoughts and homeschooling work has been a dream. The further she gets in the program the more work outside of keyboarding she is doing. Suddenly I have typed out experiments, history lesson summaries, spelling words. I am excited to see what the future holds for my budding keyboarder.
I am very impressed with Keyboarding Classroom. I will be using this program for my other kids to teach a highly valuable skill in today’s computer oriented society.
Better yet what did my daughter think, “I loved it! I liked that I could level up. The games were up to date games and fun to play.” When I asked did this help your homeschooling overall? “It’s definitely going to help me with the writing of my books. I can type on my keyboard way faster now.” There you go folks ‘way faster’ LOL. High Praise from my daughter!
