Keeping our children safe can be a big job. When your child doesn’t have the ability to understand basic safety issues, or they have diminished danger sense you are on alert ALL the time.
Several years ago a friends son went missing in a remote hiking trail. He was used to walking with his mom and dad. This time he got impatient and walked ahead around a corner and was gone! What elevated this from a simple lost and found to a parent’ worst nightmare is that he is autistic and non-verbal. He was found days later, and is now healthy and happy at home!
They would have found him within minutes if he had a tracking device on him. For some children for their protection we need to add an extra layer of protection.
No matter what you chose to help protect your child. Ask about how fast can they respond in an emergency. What if you travel out of the state to on vacation does that pose a problem?
One added feature I really liked on this tracking model is the temperature feature. This can tell you when your child is too hot or too cold. For some of our children that have temperature sensitivities this could be a life saving feature! If your child goes to school or is picked up by a bus for some reason what if your non-verbal child is left in the bus? This tracker would let you know where they are and if the temperature is dangerous.
I don’t like the idea of being tracked. It smacks of big brother. Then again I know my child and their limitations. This may just be away to provide added protection.
