Do you have fond memories of your BFF (best friend forever)? Can you believe that your children may be discouraged from making those strong bonds? Here is an article that set my teeth on edge! The End of the Best Friend? You Must be Kidding One reason this irks me is as a mom of children with autism I pray for a BFF! I hope my children will have someone they hold so close to their heart. I want to see to heads together giggling over a secret. These are things I work towards! To discourage a child to create bonds of friendship is just ridiculous…that is until I dug deeper. The overtones of that article had the words social engineering ringing in my ears.
What is social engineering? According to Yahoo it is, The practical application of sociological principles to particular social problems. How bland and harmless that sounds. There are problems and social engineering is using principles to solve them. There in lies the venom to this issue. What are the problems? And who gets to decide how to apply proper sociological principles and to what group to provide the most change? Usually the group that is most vocal and that holds power.
Education is a foundational stone of social engineering.
The education of all children, from the moment that they can get along without a mother’s care, shall be in state institutions at state expense.
~ Karl Marx, The Communist Manifesto
If you take a generation and input your beliefs into the primary grades eventually you will get adults that believe or are at least open to your agenda. Here is an interesting article I dug up on just this subject Social Engineering for Global Change from Eagle Forum.
Our Secretary of Education believes much like Karl Marx that children need a community school to attend. He is pushing for a school that is open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, 12 months a year. There are schools across the nation moving towards 3 full meals a day, after school and weekend care for children, even medical for teens…sometimes including abortion assistance. Here is a clip where Mr Arne talks about some of his goals.
Mr Arne is pushing for more school time for our children then let us look at what rights we as parents have for that schooling.
Parents give up their rights when they drop the children off at public school.
~ Melinda Harmon, U.S. Federal Judge, 1996
Really even in America?? Could that happen today? Yes, here is a case that is happening right now about a family that wished their children to not partake in part of the curriculum at their school. They asked to be notified and be given an option to opt out of material on homosexuality. They were denied to the point of arresting the father! Here is a full post with detail from MASSresistance Along those same lines more schools are deciding to teach sexual education at astoundingly young ages. Group says teach sex ed to 5 yr olds
In one of my email groups we were once asked some questions by a woman attempting a master’s in education. She asked mostly benign questions except. She wanted to know when did we teach girls about domestic abuse and sexual education. Sadly when the response began trickling in to that provocative question she turned rather ugly. She wanted to know how she could force us to teach these poor girls how to protect themselves. She was talking about changing the law to make us understand what the girls needed. Sadly she couldn’t or didn’t want to understand that as parents that was our right and responsibility.
We homeschoolers do not fit into this pretty utopia picture that Secretary Arne paint. We are happy tightly knit families that enjoy our company more than the masses. We have strong moral fortitude which we pass down to our children and we tend to have more children. Here is another article I found that brings up that point and many more as why homeschooling families do not fit the socialism agenda. Homeschooling and socialism Dr. Samuel L. Blumenfeld from World Net Daily.com
I know that I have thrown a lot at you today. The world is moving a fast speed towards goals that most of us don’t want. We need to remain vigilant and try to stop as many of these steps towards a government run life, pregnancy through grave. We are blessed with many freedoms but unless we stand alert and ready to act they will be stripped from us.
Henry says
“Sadly when the response began trickling in to that provocative question she turned rather ugly.”
It sounds like she thought she needed to save the children.
If you think she is really honest, you might encourage her to read “A Sense of Self: Listening to Homeschooled Adolescent Girls.” Susannah Sheffer does a great job of explaining that many of the “typical” problems teenage girls face in our society have more to do with public schools and their Lord of Flies environment, than a developmental stage.
