Is watching the news or reading the newspaper part of your curriculum? Do you find yourself trying to explain the faulty thinking and logic that is used to write and tell some of that material? Then this is the book for you.
The day we started this book my daughter and I were watching a news program. It was a split screen with the moderator and two different sides of the argument. The side that had hard facts to support itself was not a very clear speaker. The other side was smooth, good looking, always smiling and changing the subject. My daughter after listening said that she thinks the side with facts was probably right, but the other guy had to be at least a little right he seemed so sure of himself. LESSON 35 Transfer
In today’s word of sound bites and mini interviews the skills in ‘The Fallacy Detective’ is vital. Another wonderful side to this book is that it is written from a christian perspective. I am often concerned about books on thinking and logic that are not God derived, that is not a problem here! I am so pleased that I will be able to share this book with my daughter and later my younger children.
