And it’s done! Another year is in the books! Woo Hoo Time of a celebratory nap. zzzz
We used the last month of homeschooling to polish off the last big points of learning that we didn’t get to. To be sure that our travels were packed full of fun and learning. Finally an all over review so the kids felt comfortable when they talked to their teacher.
I was tense. Hubby was cool as a cucumber. Flipping burgers for the family lunch when the teacher knocked on the door. The kids and dog went crazy happy!
Then we started and my nerves melted away. The kids each had their own time with the teacher describing the year. Showing off their work from art, to American Heritage Girl badges, to math textbooks.
We will be having a small celebration. No graduates this year. Still a time for celebration though we made it!!!
Since we are year round homeschoolers this is the end of the legal year for our state. We will turn in the appropriate paperwork. Keep the appropriate paperwork but file it away.
I plan on doing DEEP cleaning of the homeschooling area and some delayed home maintence. Things like gardening. I want to paint my home office and work area from bleh gray to a happy light blue. This is also next to where I sleep in my hospital bed so I will have a brighter more cozy room.
I was thinking about this summer’s homeschooling. It is going to be loaded with big projects. A couple of trips. Starting therapy up for several of the kids so we will need to get into the groove of that again. Hopefully a few months over the summer will help right some of the current issues and we won’t have to continue as strongly through the fall. I understand the need for therapy but I am not a fan of ongoing nonstopping therapy.
I am also working on a handful of reviews.
