Do you have a ton of Easter eggs underfoot? Lets put them to use! I have a ton of leftover plastic eggs and I want to use them with kinetic learning. I am going to show you how to use those leftover eggs in an EASY, MEDIUM, and HARD way for letter recognition.
EASY: Take an egg top and bottom of the same color. Use a sharpie marker and print the same letter like A, A or a, a on the top and bottom. Let it sit for a minute or two to dry.
Then you can put the egg in a sensory box on that letter. You could give your child a few letters at a time to learn. Or use them as a review. This will not only teach your child more about the letter but also about the concept of Same to Same.
MEDIUM: The first way to make your eggs a medium level is to take the top and bottom of the same colored egg. Using a Sharpie make a capital letter on the top and a lower case letter on the bottom. A and a
Using the same color helps your child match the letters.
HARD: Take your eggs and mix up the colors. A capital letter pink goes with a lower case blue, etc.
Now your child has to know their letters in order to match the eggs correctly.
CURSIVE VARIANT: I love to teach little ones cursive early. Just change out the normal manuscript letter with a cursive letter.
If you don’t have eggs just ask your friends on Facebook or make a run to the local store. This weekend the eggs will be on super markdown. Grab a whole bunch now to make it the year. I hope you enjoy!
Do you have a variation on learning with eggs?
