Last year when I started using a feeding tube I would draw pictures on my enteral (feeding tube) bags. I had lots of great feedback and parents saying they wished they could draw like that.
Here is how to make holiday dinners fun even if you can’t eat from the table!
No drawing skills required!
SUPPLIES: Formula bag(s), Sharpie Marker(s), Simple Shape Print Offs, and Stickers
1) Search for shapes online: I searched “Thanksgiving Shapes” then clicked images. I could then look at the pictures until I found a simple, clean lined turkey. Clicked on the turkey to be sure I was allowed to print it off. Then printed one.
3) Line up your printed shape under the bag and outline with a sharpie the picture.
New to the world of enteral and parenteral feeding? Then my GO-TO place for great information and a supportive forum is the Oley Foundation.
This maybe a great way to keep everyone’s spirits up. It could break the ice with relatives. It can even make it less ‘medical’ and more fun for a family get-together. I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!
