Ready for homeschooling through high school straight to college? I am! One hurdle you have to cross is a foreign language. A college preparatory diploma usually needs 2 credits of a foreign language. Middlebury Interactive Languages offers you an online option for those foreign language credits! A way to learn that is interactive fun and covers all the bases of the languages from speaking to grammar. My daughter is learning High School German I.
This program is insanely easy to start up and watch your child go! My daughter started a notebook to keep track of the phrases she was learning. It also helped her memory to write things out. I was amazed at how quickly she learned conversational phrases and dug right into grammar. Luckily hubby and I took German so we could keep up with her because she is independently flying through the lessons.
I peek in and listen occasionally but learning German is so easy with Middlebury Interactive Languages that she will start German before I even wake up! That is outstanding!
My daughter said ” I love, love, love this! I want to learn Chinese next with Gabe.” and my son that doesn’t willing add more subjects on his plate is excited about learning Chinese! I do believe that next semester the Laurie household will be learning Chinese.
We used the high school program. I was happy to see there were programs for younger children as well. It would have been so much easier for memorization and knowledge of other languages if we had started earlier. A foreign language was always on my wish list if I had seen this it just might have happened. Hmmm wonder if my 6 yr old wants to learn German too. T
he K-2 program includes a total of 35 lessons for the semester, while the Grades 3-5 program has 45 lessons per semester. Middlebury recommends 2 days a week for Grades K-2, and 2-3 days per week for Grades 3-5. Slow and steady wins this race. Since I didn’t review the elementary section to Middlebury Interactive Languages I highly recommend that you go below to the Crew link and read other review families that did.
Middlebury Interactive Languages is a true foreign language arts learning program. Your child will learn the language, get to know the country, and have a fun time learning.
