Real Life with the Lauries! Wk 5
Frankly most of my life is ho hum normalcy or as normal as we get. ๐ The day in and day out of life for us is a naturally occurring routine. That flexes and bends to allow our medical issues to be absorbed into the day rather than destroy the day.
This week was full of beautiful bright spots of joy. Last weekend we brought out the Christmas decorations. That is when the first wave of extreme excitement hits the house. Christmas is coming!!!!! That excitement rolled right into Monday. We started the Christmas Unit Study by Amanda Bennett. Christmas spelling words, scripture, geography, and traditions.
The end of the week brought the possibility of an ice or a snow storm. We got a fair amount of snow just a touch of ice. Our dog loves snow! The kids love snow! Lots of giggles and great memories guaranteed!
The last few weeks have found us working on lots of fractions and geometry. Science of weather and physical science for my high schooler, Apologia’s Physical Science book. The experiments are starting to build up. I think we are going to take the time soon to do lots of experiments and fun science projects.
This week also started a couple of reviews. The Keyboard Classroom a keyboarding program that my daughter with low tone hands is trying for me. Review coming soon. We are also using Schoolhouseteacher.com an online plethora of classes and material for learners of all ages by The Old Schoolhouse magazine.
This week was normal for us. Next week should be normal routine as well. We should run right up till the week of Christmas before we pack away the books for the year… maybe. The last few years the kids have wanted to get back to work right after Christmas because that was their set routine. Who am I to argue? ๐
