I was recently asked what do you do when your child seizes up when they try to do their math work. I thought I would show you one of the main reasons kids seize up when faced with a page of math problems. It’s Too Much!
When you give a child a standard sheet of math problems you can be looking at 20 or more problems. Take a moment and think about that. A page full of numbers and odd math symbols. As a learner, you might not be too sure of your ability to even work a single problem, much less all of them.

I completely agree. A page of math problems can be daunting. Try the free downloadables from Arithmetic Village and some easy manipulatives- jewels, bags and treasure chests. Much more fun and really helps solidify the concepts! http://www.arithmeticvillage.com/

It’s so true. My guys will do 100 problems, one at a time. A page with 20 all together, and they are so fixated on how many problems there are, that they do none!
