Simply put..in order to justify nationalization…it would require not only just getting rid of the 10th amendment which is there for a reason-federal government, by virtue of the Constitution was given limited power, with states by virtue of the Constitution, to self-govern, but we would have to get rid of the Constitution itself and have a central government where all matters of local and state has to be in line with a central ruling party.

That means..no longer a democrative republic but as define via this link, an oligarchy government.

Oligarchies are often controlled by a few powerful families whose children are raised and mentored to become inheritors of the power of the oligarchy, often at some sort of expense to those governed. In contrast to aristocracy (“government by the ‘best’”), this power may not always be exercised openly, the oligarchs preferring to remain “the power behind the throne”, exerting control through economic means.

Other countries have a socialistic democracy that is parlimentary based; Ours is a democratic republic that is based on a presidency. There is a huge difference.

For ex.Prime Minister can dissolve a current government in place and call for a new election. In our government, the president cannot and kept from doing so via the Constitution.

A great example that also explains the difference between our elections and other countries as well is this,” In a presidential government, the president and members of Congress are chosen in separate elections while in a parliamentary process, one size fits all, so to speak.

So nationalization of education is not the way to go because it can and will unsurp the basic foundations of the Constitution.

Heather,
You brought up a good point about the needs of children who are special-needs-right now the model in California is sinking with schools being closed.

Instead of nationalizing…better funding of schools should be enacted, not to mention, loosening the holds teachers tend to find themselves under.

Even yet…instead of tenure, raise teacher’s pays and give them more incentives not punishments, to raise children’s scores all the way attending to the special needs of children who require the attention of teachers who understands their needs without making it expensive or in some cases, where teachers are lacking.

We live in a wonderful country yes….but it just seems that it’s like having a one size coat that really doesn’t fit one size and expecting everyone to wear it…

Reality is that it doesn’t work like that…Washington D.C. revoke vouchers to allow poverty stricken children to go private schools…yet they want to nationalize education?? How is it so wrong to remove the power of choice?

If one school is more competitive and allows more opportunties, allow the parents to choose, if a school can not compete, then look at the budgeting and really see where is the funding going..if a high risk school is getting funded but there are no results..the solution isn’t to tell all the schools to bear the burden, but look at the school, and find out where are the funds really being used.

The trouble is that there is a sense of two different realities and one reality is being forced to be accepted by everyone…

It’s like expecting aspirin to cure everything…it doesn’t…
