What a week over at The Old Schoolhouse. This week was a big one. The week started with the welcoming a baby Chloe, congrats Suarez family!! Then I happen to know that this week was the turn in date for the Summer edition of the magazine for special needs. How would I know that? I have an article in this year! More on that closer to the release date.
The big news today from the TOS crew is the grand announcement of The Schoolhouse EXPO!
I am super excited that I will be giving a brand new workshop at the convention.
Not Your Typical Homeschooler
Have you started homeschooling and things are rough? Learning is just not happening as fast or as well as you think it should? Heather walks through the steps to realizing hers was a special needs homeschooling family. She discusses:
- Problem vs. Phase—deciding if the problem needs help.
- Assessment—whom to go to and how to get the problem tested or evaluated.
- Making it work—adjusting so you can keep on homeschooling.
- Goals—setting goals that are high but attainable.
Yes it is a path I have walked and I hope to shed light on it so you do not have to stumble. This is really a 411 on how to find the problem, find the help, and move onto all the wonderful dreams you can come up with in your homeschooling journey!!
