Hotel update and finale!

This is a follow up to Hotel Disaster

After considering what happened and the response we got. Also the fact that we were still out a considerable amount of money even after all these calls, we once again complained. This time I took it open to the Holiday Inn FB page.

I was contacted within the day by Holiday Inn. Nice response time, thank you HI. Also the person I talked to was pleasant and understanding. Again thank you HI.

That is where the happy feelings end. They did nothing to help us with the bank charges that were accrued because of their overcharge (a simple letter stating their mistake with dates and amounts.) I was told that they would tell the hotel manager (for the 6th time) and the district manager (3rd time) and they would get back to me. They have both been told several times so I expected nothing. I got it.

Silence for HI now. I am letting it go.

In a way this highlights to Chris and I that as we travel more and more with speaking and our book. We are looking for a pull along RV.

We have thought a lot about whether or not a RV would be prudent and right for our family or not. In the end we think it will fit us well. We have a lot of medical issues, including medications, and equipment that is not possible to dragĀ up to a hotel room for a night’s stay. We also have significant food allergies and carrying our own food will make it easier to stay on diet.

While this hotel problem was not pleasant. It has helped us solidify our thoughts on alternative ways to travel and stay. Always looking for the silver lining! :)

Just met a musical family who travels around in a school bus modified into an RV… saved them a good deal of money!

Looking for a silver lining, and perhaps a Silver Turtle, I might add. ;-) Hope you can make it back to Missouri again–we sure enjoyed you at the Expo.

I’m so sorry your experience was bad with HI, but it is inspiring to me to see your approach to it. Hope the perfect RV is just around the corner for you.
